How are you? Oh, I'm sure you are fine! And as for me... Well.. I'm Ok! And the main news of this day, be ready to hear it,.... drumroll....Winter starts in Izhevsk!!!!Sounds strange, because it's November; but in Russia seasons disobey the calendar! This event makes me think about The New Year!!! But this holiday produces thoughts about winter exams in the mind of Russian students!

Since we are studying at the University, The New Year is not such a desirable day!Also this day presents our town with slippery roads and sidewalks! Thank you winter!

You know, our drivers must be skilled and extreme!!! And as for people, they have fun, slipping down the sidewalks, it's like " slip-and-slide"!

Today is Monday! So it means the begining of new week! Do everithing you can! Take care!

Night Clubs

You are in Izhevsk! Where do you want to go? It's a real stumper. Well, We'll help! Each of us is going to write about our favorite places! Let's Start!

One of the most popular clubs situated not far from the city centre is Lightzone, which doesn’t seem to be very attractive at first sight but it’s cozy inside. One can spend a wonderful time there listening to music, dancing, enjoying various drinks. The place is also famous in the city because it is the sort of a concert hall as well, that is why concerts of not so famous but still worth seeing rock and pop bands are held there. And as for the other weekends, the local youth enjoys the works of talented DJs from different cities and towns in Russia. So, if you are fond of nice dance music, Lightzone is worth a visit.

The ideal shelter =)
Ю-DANCE (U-DANCE) is one more place you can visit in Izhevsk (especially if you are a disco-goer). The place used to go by the name BOMB it's situated in a real bomb shelter, under the ground. The motto of the club is "U-DANCE is the ideal shelter". First of all you pass the security (as everywhere). Then you go down and pass a long narrow coridor, which is arranged like a street - with a traffic-light, a car, some signs. Afterwards you enter the hall, which is decorated like a park with benches and lampposts. The bar and dance floor are at your service. ENJOY!!!

If you like cinema...

There are lots of movielovers in our city. They all are united by Izhevsk Cinema Club. It is not a particular place it is more like a community of the ptople who like unusual, non-standard films.
The Izhevsk Cinema Club brings to Izhevsk the best films of all the world and Russia, the well-known films of cult directors, the winners of the largest film festivals, the European, Asian and American independent cinema, the videoart... All the films are shown in theatres throughout the city.
Traditionally there is CINEMA ON MONDAYS at cinema "Udmurtia" where you can watch the classic films of all times and countries.
Two times a month at the movie theatre "Druzhba" (friendship) there is UNUSUAL CINEMA, which brings to Izhevsk the best films of the 21st century. Modern arthouse films from all around the world.
And every month at the city's cinemas the festivals of national and international movies are held.

As for me, my favorite café is “Coffee 7”. This place is very comfortable and cozy. There is a good service there. Also, the light music creates a good atmosphere. I like to go there with my friends, because it is a nice place to hang out.

One of the most popular places to go to is
BABILON DISCO

It can hold about 600 people. This club is famous for its discos and concerts. DJs and bands all over the world are invited here: from the US, Great Britain, Italy, Germany, Japan and so on.
There is also a casino, a computer club in the building. And what’s really weird that the computer club is situated actually above the dance floor, there aren’t any partitions. I’ve no idea how people can use the Internet at the same time of the loud sounds of drum-n-bass or screaming and growling of rock bands.
